She sure knows how to wrap up a story. But the beginning dragged and dragged, and I got tired of being strung along about the big, secret, guilt-inducing barbecue.

This is the first Liane Moriarty book I’ve read, so I don’t know how representative it is of her work, but I’m not inclined to read more. It was a test of endurance to make it to the “thrilling” part, which finally comes in chapter 78. SEVENTY-EIGHT.
10/15/16: I'm at 34% and this is due back at the library, and I know I won't finish it in time, which is just as well because, omg, this book's plotting is getting on my last nerve. Yes, flashbacks between the present and the past are kind of LM's jam, but, seriously, just show what happened at the barbecue that has severely damaged these people so I can get on with knowing how to properly react to their reactions!
