This was hard to read for two reasons, content and chronology.
Content: Griffin's ex-boyfriend has died in a terrible drowning accident in California and has left him distraught. Griffin already suffers from some OCD compulsions and other personality disorders so this loss sends him into a depressive tailspin. His struggles are difficult to read about.
