Man, could Carrie Fisher write a sentence. I'm glad I listened to this on audio - I'll miss the voice she grew into, that gravelly, roughened voice that said she went through some shit times but came out the other side. May the Force Be With You, General Organa. ...more

I'm going to probably lose a few friends over this admission, but I was a kid in the 70s and even though I was there right in the midst of the whole Star Wars thing from the start, it never really "grabbed" me. I just pretty much had absolutely no opinion one way or the other. In fact, I finally watched Star Wars (none of the sequels... or prequelsequels) around 2005 when someone who was in my life at the time couldn't believe I had never seen it and insisted I watch. Treadmill book.

Carrie Fisher you were gone much too soon. It's so hard to believe that the vibrant voice from this audiobook is now gone from this earth.

I listened to this one and it was certainly entertaining, but it felt more like it should be a long essay and not a whole book. I almost quit listening when i hit the diary entry portion; it was uncomfortable to listen to. I had that feeling of being painfully embarrassed for her, like if someone was reading my own diaries from when I was that age in public. But thankfully that section was short and it picked up again with her meandering thoughts about her relationship with Harrison Ford and abo ...more

I like the idea of Carrie Fisher better than actually listening to Carrie Fisher talk. For some reason I thought this would be different from other celebrity autobiographies. It isn't. if you like them, you'll probably love this book because it is a great look at the set of Star Wars. I'm always disappointed by books written by celebrities so I should have known that I wouldn't like it. I thought it would be different with this one because she has a great reputation as a memoirist. But I stil

The actual diaries made my eyes glaze over, but I loved her reflections.
