I bought this book back in August, and just now got around to reading it...mostly because it kept showing up in my Kindle recommendations and I was in serious danger of buying it again in digital format!

I was a little leery at first because of the dialect format I encountered in the Aibileen chapters (I'm anti-dialect for some reason, can't really explain why), but once I was able to get past it I absolutely loved the book. I really enjoyed this. I didn't really know what people truly thought of the book and really tried to avoid any sort of notion of what the book was about until I had finished the book so as to escape disappointment with the book. And hence I was able to enjoy it much more than I probably would have had I either read reviews of the book or watched the movie that came out a few months ago on DVD.

I just fell in love with these characters! I absolutely loved the way that Stockett used the voices of multiple women to communicate her theme and the characters were so real that it was easy to connect with them and their individual plights. I would definitely recommend it!
