When I put this book on my Goodreads shelf, I thought it was going to be a cutting non-fiction expose on the effect the tourist industry has on Jamaica. Instead, I got a fiction novel about how a family copes with the effect the tourist industry has on Jamaica. Guess I should have read the description better. I already had the book so I read it and...it was ok. The Jamaican patois the author uses gives the book some depth, but was very hard to read/figure out words for this American. Also, I saw
