Audiobook review:
I read this back in college and when I went to watch season one of the show, I realized I barely remembered any of it, so I wanted to return to it. The full cast audiobook is a lot of fun and adds and exciting depth and richness to the story. The ancillary materials for the 10th anniversary edition are also a treat for those revisiting the story.

I'm not typically into fantasy, but I think this feels more like magical realism to me. Not that I'm a big fan of that, either. Regardless, this is an interesting, engaging book, in spite of the fact that I never felt very connected to Shadow. Perhaps that's the point? In any event, I'd recommend it - an interesting approach to some modern-day moral dilemmas, a murder mystery, and ideas about what a god would look like if he/she were "passing" as a person. Not happy and light, nor heavy and dark
