I absolutely adore this book. I took my time with it, even reading some passages aloud to myself. I was blown away by the beauty and strength of the prose. I will read pretty much anything she writes. It inspired me to write. It's one of those books that seems like it could just keep going, and does, somehow, after the story on the page runs out.

Well, I didn't hate the book. It is beautifully written, but I just cannot get into books where I have no sympathy for the main character. I started to when they talked about her relationship with her parents, but in the end I couldn't really get into it. It's a quick read and I did feel bad for these people, but it just didn't hit home for me. Maybe I'm just heartless. ...more
