Wonderful characters, moving story. Just scary enough to be thrilling. Suggest to anyone 12 + who likes ghost stories, but also enjoys a story about family, identity, loss, and friendship.

I received this as part of a book swap I participated in over Christmas, and what a great book to send someone! I really enjoyed this - a very engaging story about a boy who grows up in a graveyard, after his family is murdered. Interesting characters and concept and I thought the story flowed well. There are of course lots of fantasy/horror type elements, but I don't think I would categorize it as a fantasy novel, necessarily. It is a YA novel, though not a childish book, and I think it might b

Awe, this was so adorable! I think listening to Neil Gaiman read it himself as an audio book just added to my enjoyment too. It was absolutely charming. I loved how each little story was it's own story, but tied into the greater story. It was exciting and funny and memorable. I just loved it!

It's Neil Gaiman. What more do you need to know? It was whimsical, funny, sad, inspiring, astute, pick your adjective. Just read it.

this book was a little slow and i was half way through before i felt like it really got moving, but i cried at the end and felt satisfied and that's something.
