I can't really find the right way to describe the magic of these books. They make the civil rights movement deeply intimate. After reading March, it truly feels like you were there. Like your remembering, not just reading.

All three volumes of March are a powerful, relevant story for our world today. Prior to reading this book, I didn't know when the Republican Party turned away from its history and toward the party it is today. Now I know the first step of that journey was taken July 14, 1964.
If you feel hopeless and helpless, this book remind you that freedom is worth the fight and it will show you the way to fight.

So many complicated emotions. This should be required reading for every American.
