This series is so incredibly powerful. I was moved to tears (and that never happens). Now, in the early days of the Trump presidency in the USA, when I see so much hate being stirred up, horrible things are happening and so many horrible things being said, it's reassuring to read this book and see how far we've come. Even though I sometimes can't believe how much hate and bigotry is in my country today, it was worse in the mid 20th Century. If we overcame that, we can overcome this, too.

I think this is the best of the three volumes of March, or at least it was for me. What made it so good, possibly because of who I am as a person or because of the historical moment we're currently living, is that it focused so heavily on strategy. More than the other two volumes of this set, March: Book Three is about Selma, about Freedom Summer, about the relationships among the grassroots organizations and between them and government institutions. I definitely didn't want this series to end. This book focuses on Bloody Sunday, Turnaround Tuesday, and the March to Montgomery. Really compelling but I want more.
