A thudding disappointment. Next to "Go Set a Watchman," this might be the most overrated book of 2015. Though "Gone Girl" was far from perfect, I'll take it over this lackluster mess any day.

A well paced ride with plenty of red herrings and (my favorite) unreliable narrators. While comparisons to Gone Girl are apt and deserved, I also think it takes away just a little from enjoying the book on its own merits.
The lack of admirable, genuinely strong, female characters is rather disturbing, however.

Quick read that I couldn't put down, but Anna as a character and Rachel as a narrator were both so annoying by the end.

Well, that was a quick read! It sucked me in from the beginning, and didn't let go til I finished it. Comparisons to "Gone Girl" make sense, but I liked this one SO much more.

After reading Gone Girl last year, this book is too much in the vein of that one to stand out. It was entertaining and a quick read, but not one I'd likely pick up again.

Considering not finishing. Listening to audiobook and reading on kindle. I like the narrator, but I put off reading it for a long time because I thought it would be too dark, and I'm not loving it so far, so I may just quit before I get to the dark "twist."
