(NSFW) This is the second or third book I've read recently with a female lead character who is a serial adulterer. When a man behaves that way, we think he's being a dick. Hawkins tries to explain her female philanderers by creating a sad backstory, but really, they're just being dicks. That said, the story is fast paced and Hawkins unravels the murder mystery through disjointed points of view from three different characters. It's fun, maybe a summer read recommendation.

I finished this while on our off-the-grid vacation a couple of weeks ago, so it's a little vague to me now. But I did enjoy it - the story focuses on a woman who gets herself involved in the life of a couple she sees from her commuter train every day. There's a lot going on - disappearance/murder, alcoholism, depression, divorce - and it all plays together into something pretty interesting.

I enjoyed it even though I figured it out quicker than I probably was supposed to.
A quick read...and I actually read it on a train :)
