I'm glad I took my time with this. The essays are all fairly short, so it's almost too easy to fly through several in a row without really digesting them. I found the more personal stuff (the "Me" and "Me Again" sections) most interesting, but I really enjoyed all of this. It's eye-opening and interesting and entertaining. Gay's voice is just so relatable (is that the right word?). She's self-deprecating (if the title didn't give that away!), and honest and also not afraid to speak some harsh tr

I think some of the essays in here were fantastic, whereas others read like choppy blog posts. A little more pop culture than I was expecting too. Worth a read - but in hindsight j wish I'd skipped over the chapters I didn't enjoy.
