This was good, but when I finished, I wasn't sure what the point was. The scenes in Harlem were great, but the mystical stuff was maybe a little too sincere. This was good creepy captivating horror. I’ve still never read actual Lovecraft but between this and Jemisin’s take on subverting his work- I don’t need to. Much better to read this.
