Rereading this book because I wanted to see if my feeling has changed about it. Apparently, I feel this book is even more relevant now than ever, considering the crazy world we currently live in. Scary to think that some things would never change, and humans and pigs will always turn into each other.

this might be the saddest book i ever read. i had been putting off reading this classic, but when i saw this illustrated edition, i could not resist. steadman's work really brings out the morbidity of the book.

I couldn't sleep early this morning and re-read this, as I have many times. Even though I know how it ends, I always get sucker-punched with hope for the animals. And he always breaks my heart with that horse. :-( Sad, but such a necessary read.

Even though I had seen this in play form before I read it, it's still pretty chilling. It certainly has shades of China, Russia and North Korea also. Orwell was kind of amazing in his way of predicting the future.
