I am really glad that I both finished this and that I read it for my library book club. This dystopian sci-fi classic was written in 1993 and set in the near future, 2025. Some interesting stuff in here, but overall pretty disappointing. Although it has piqued my interest enough to continue the series . . .

It is certainly strange to read a sci-fi book published 30 years ago set to our present day. When people were suggesting which sci-fi novel we are in, most referenced this book. That seems to be an accurate statement. Since I am reading this from the "future" I can confirm her predictions. We have had a President who deludes people into thinking that good times will return.
