kind of a cross between a sick kid book (like The Fault in Our Stars but without the great boyfriend) and the shiny bubbly parts of Uglies, without all the revolution. It is a sobering book, and like day-to-day life, not much seems to happen, yet everything happens. Also a cautionary tale against the insidiousness of technology, prescient since it was written in 2001, before the Internet of Things became a goal of tech companies. ...more

I read this because it was recommended to teach in Media Studies. It wasn’t great for me. But maybe my students will like it.

really good, kind of scary that this feels like it could happen, great capture of the insecurity and cruelty of teenagers, regardless of whether they have a 'feed' coming into their head or not. ...more

Awesome audio! I definitely recommend listening to the audio version of this title for enhanced "content".
Out of all the future-set ya books, this had quite a different, refreshing feel.
Disturbing, quietly profound, and at time funny, Feed is a warning to be careful how close we allow technology to be integrated into our lives.

My sister in law read this with her class as a senior in high school and for that I think her teacher was a genius. Just a word of warning for those concerned about language, there are more F words in this book than in the movie 'The King's Speech' but not more than the average high schooler's mouth. ...more

I absolutely loved this book. It was cool, inventive, smart, sad, and unafraid to be beautiful while remaining awkward. I highly recommend the audio book. The reader is fantastic and you get to hear "the feed." ...more
