I really liked the story but somewhat in the middle the writing just didn't sound as emotive and exciting as it was in the beginning. I suppose it was the translation so I will re-read it in a few years in English.
Otherwise, it really is a nice book. The social criticism seemed spot on and Gatsby's story did move me. I was fascinated by his uncorrupted dream just as Nick. ...more

Had to reread this 'cause pretty soon my American Literature juniors will be reading it. I didn't really remember it from high school and now I remember why... it's kinda slow and nothing interesting happens until the last two chapters. Oh what fun my juniors will have!
