By now (August of 2013) the hype around this book has reached such lunatic heights that you can't read it with a completely open mind. But I think I came pretty close, knowing nothing whatsoever about the plot or twists, only aware of its popularity and my various friends' reactions to the end (ranging from "standing ovation" to "rage").

Good, but far too long and slow-burning for my liking.
I must say it took me a while to get going with this book. The first half was interesting enough for me to keep at it a little here and a little there. Then the second half came and BAM! I'm up all night reading. I'm reading at work. I'm thinking about it while I'm not reading it (which is a measure on how good a book is for me). And I'm still thinking about this a week later. I just did not expect her to be a sociopath.

More literary than most of the mysteries I read. The characters leave me feeling like I need a shower.
