Update 4-9-15:
I've been thinking a lot about Austin Kleon's 33 thoughts on reading, particular numbers 21 (If I hate a book, I will keep my mouth shut.) and 22 (I will make liberal use of the phrase, “It wasn’t for me.”). I am retaining my rating, but hiding my review. If you really want to see how much I hated it, read on. Otherwise, just know it wasn't for me.

The book wanted me to think of it as a mystery, but soon I was able to pick up that it was something different... suspense? thriller? ...I don't know. I was impressed with the twist that happens in Part Two (can't say I saw that coming), but as the story progressed I got less and less concerned about either of the main characters. By the end I really didn't care what happened to either of them, but I did read through to the conclusion. I can't say that I couldn't put it down (because I did sever ...more

Wow. I thoroughly enjoyed this. A reviewer on my favorite podcast said it best: this book is just fun. Creepy, ridiculous, psychotic fun. If you are my friend, and you are reading this: stop. Go read this book now. Do not read any other reviews of it, do not find out anything about it. This is one of those books that is so much better when you go into it knowing almost nothing. I've read some theories lately that spoilers are actually pointless -- that books/TV/movies/whatever should be able to ...more

This book was crazy ingenious but it seriously unsettled me. It was gripping and a total thriller and I know it was supposed to be unsettling but it was just all too much for me. Maybe a different month I would've loved it more. But this month I was just disturbed and wanted to strangle all the characters. ...more

Not much to truly say about this. It started off slow for me, however by the plot twist in the middle, I was hooked. I had to know what happened - and then about 3/4ths of the way through it became a train wreck and I couldn't turn away. ...more

Wow; what an amazing book! It took me awhile to get going with this book, but once I was able to get into the storyline the other day, I was really hooked with the story. I can't really say a lot about the story without giving too much away, but I can say that once you get your way through the first part of the book, you will be hooked and I can see why a lot of readers like this one. It not only has the literary aspect that I really like, it also has an exce

This book was fun, albeit a little far fetched. Who has the time or energy to scheme this hard??
