I really liked this book. The first half absolutely flew for me. I loved hearing about the gardening and cooking details. many of the recipes sounded delicious, even accounting for what I couldn't eat because of my allergies. The cast (their family) was appealing. I wanted to go get my farm and grow my produce on it RIGHT NOW.

Felt like I was reading words of a kindred spirit. Appreciated learning more about gardening, sustainability, and local eating. Read most of it while seated in my own garden. Finished it feeling inspired to weed and preserve!
Probably more like 4.5 stars, because it isn't a perfect book. But what it has inspired me to think about and want to do is pretty impressive to me.

Well written, informative and resourceful. Made me want to drop everything and buy a farm.
Ambitious - and a model for something I'd like to pull off... one day... :)
