Really, this author could do so much better if, for just once, she could write real action scenes! With vampires and werewolves you expect that! Or maybe it's just me... Once again this book was a deception.

In this volume we have Edward and Bella's marriage and the consequences of such action, the union between so different creatures, mainly you have a mutant creature and giving birth to such creature. Unfortunately, everything was very predictable, once again.

I must confess I liked the idea of the "immortal children" (the possibilities to rule the world!), Jacob's narration (just the titles would make me laugh) and getting to know different vampires and their powers, however the remaining 500 pages are really one of the most boring stuff I've ever read. Even the part that, supposedly, would make you stuck to the book, the author was able to turn it into one of the most boring parts presenting, instead of a battle, a court room. Too little fighting, too much discussing. Boring! And by the way, I didn't care that much for Bella, but in this book I really hate the fact that Meyer turned her into a real Mary Sue! The vampires are beautiful, but she's even more! The vampires are graceful, but she's even more graceful! The vegetarian-vampires can resist human blood, with every bit of strength in their body after many years she does it on her first hunt! There's no suffering, but there is, better, there still is the pseudo-martyr thing of not wanting to hurt who one loves, and that doesn't convince me anymore. There are no deceptions, no deaths and we're shown the most powerful vampires ever! Ok, there's one death, but it's so lame and, again, predictable. It really seems the author, seeing she could no longer stretch the relationship between the love triangle, tries to add one more element (in this case, the marriage and a mutant creature, so to speak) to deceive us, to make us think there will be action, a real physical confrontation, to end up well and everyone being happy ever after. There! You have a new book!

Yes, it is a quick read, albeit the excessive amount of pages, but I wasn't satisfied with it. There's too much of a fairy tale in it and I think today's readers want more than perfect characters and happy endings. I, at least, want more than that and it's why these books don't appeal to me. There were very good premises but, in my opinion, also bad choices when it came to the plot and its conclusion. ...more

With apologies to Emily, I am amending the book crack comment. Now, I am thinking more along the lines of junk food. Tastes good but is bad for you until you OD at which point, it makes you sick

I can't take it any more. I can't talk to over written prose, the lack of depth among the characters, the constant ratchetting up of the angst in the plot. I am done. Luckily, so is the series. ...more

The worst of the Twilight series. It starts off saccharine sweet, then becomes progressively more and more unbelievable - the final fourth of the book has become a long hard slog to get through. It's not the vampires and werewolves and associated nonsense that I have issue with - clearly, it's a prerequisite to suspend one's disbelief on that in order to enjoy this type of book, and I'm happy to do that. Like the other books, an easy entertaining read. A nice ending to the series, tied up in a neat bow. I was happy to finally view Bella as an independent strong female character... I was hoping for that since the beginning of the series. This is the best book of the 4.

This was a very fitting end to the series. I liked the plot twists and turnabouts, and the misleading clues.

Far better than the middle books, and nearly as addictive as the first. I did enjoy the family (vampire) values.
