I think this should be more like 3.5 stars, but I don't have that option. I didn't REALLY like it...but I didn't want to put it down, and then when I was finished with it, I dreamt about it. This might be the first time ever I've dreamt about a novel I've read. so clearly the stories about these books being like crack are true.
I like the way the Romeo and Juliet story was referenced throughout the book, and I liked learning about the Quilute people and legends and all. and I never lost faith, n

I liked this book better than Twilight right up until the end. I liked it because Edward left shattering the image of their ideal relationship. I think he should have left at the end of Twilight, actually. That would have resolved some of the issues I had with that book, but no. And then Edward returns at the end of the book and they fall right back into the gushy co-dependent relationship that I can hardly stand to read about. I like Jake. I enjoyed this sequel to Twilight, maybe a little more than Twilight itself. I find myself preferring Jacob to Edward, and feeling pretty bad for him by the end of this book. And though I do like this series, I don’t particularly like Bella much — I find her quite selfish. I’m curious to see where the series goes. Bella’s not a vampire yet, but she sure wants to be. Will she get her wish? Or will Edward get his way?

(2/16/09) I officially quit. I cannot bring myself to pick it back up.

(12/2008) Okay, I'm starting to really dislike Bella. She's in the hospital every other page. Even Alice is disgusted with her. I'm not sure I can go on.

(Earlier) About halfway and it's just getting exciting, though it's been as engaging as the first since page one. Yay!

Not even close to being as good as the first. Is the third any better? I cannot help myself but to go and buy it tomorrow...
I wish I had thought ahead and bought the whole series at once.

Kind of depressing, reading about someone so depressed. I might have to join Team Jacob, though. Still a compelling read, for some reason.
