My mother read this to me as a child and I don't ever remember finishing it. I was compelled to come back to the book because I refuse to be sucked into the movie franchise with its extremely disappointing first installment. I felt that the book I remembered was not bad and the director must have been reading something else.

So, I was one of the latecomers to the Tolkien books. Now that I've had my first glimpse into his wonderfully creative world, I'm officially an addict. So excited to get started with the LOTR trilogy. I actually struggled with The Hobbit at first, primarily because I rarely allow myself to read fiction. Love this book so much. Rereading it just before the movie comes out is a very great decision. The translation is good too, even the rhymes and riddles could be translated very well. And I love Bilbo Baggins with all his eccentricity. Can't wait to watch the movie =)
