Re-reading before the movie! The story is only half the pleasure. The style the other half -- the beauty of the writing, sensory depth, and vivid descriptions. First read in maybe 1968!
I finally read it! This was my dad's favorite book, and he always encouraged me to read it. I enjoyed it; definitely an epic adventure and I loved all the witty/ingenious ways Bilbo got them out of different predicaments. Looking forward to seeing Part I of the movie this Christmas.
