I have a complicated relationship with this book. I certainly found the story to be interesting, the characters to be generally compelling, and the writing to be quite vivid. And Howard Roark delivers one of the great "oh no he di'n't!" lines in all of literature to Ellsworth Toohey in a scene that actually had me both laughing and cheering out loud. This book has been on my list of "to read" since high school. I never quite got around to it though. So I decided this year that I would try to alternate between fun reads and more complicated ones. I didn't have to worry about this one being boring though. Above all, this is a pretty great story. It kept me interested through the whole book, wanting to know the final outcome of the love story and also what becomes of some of the other characters.
