I think most can relate to having a crazy friend, one with a personality that is completely unpredictable. I find that with Kerouac I either can't put the book down or I can't pick it back up again, depending on what he's rambling about at the moment. I refuse to skip parts so it tends to take a bit of time for me to finish his books because I lag and start reading something else when he gets dry.
