This one is so heavy and so sad and so angry - a very teenage sort of book, with Harry behaving exactly like my 15 year old son in his worse moods. I miss the more carefree and fun days of the first books, where magic and friendship far outweigh any danger and misery, but I think that’s what makes this one so powerful. I listened to this because I love love love the podcast Harry Potter and the Sacred Text, and they are covering this book this season. The narration is fantastic!
It also turns out to be scarily appropriate for these dark times.
