I wish I had stopped reading this sooner, as soon as I started to realize that the book was just disturbing me. I think it's a very good book, but it was just not making me feel goo at all to read it, but I hate to quit a book and not finish reading it. I should have. I made it to page 280 and I just can't take it anymore and I think it's only going to get worse. It's been ages since I've read this one, back in college. But I adored it - so smart and funny and satirical without screaming too loudly, "message!!" I highly recommend this to anyone who like humor and enjoys feisty female heroes. ...more

I wasn’t sure about this book at the beginning and the middle, but the end brought it all together for me. Basically an exploration of the meat industry, and lives in the US and Japan. A great cast of diverse and unique characters. This book will definitely stick with me.
