I normally try to avoid book spoilers, but I couldn't resist googling the people involved, the B24 they flew in and whether a movie is in the works -- yes there is, because you'd have be insane to not see the movie potential in a story this amazing.

It was a shock to learn that their PTSD was for the most part treated with B12 shots. The fact that we as a nation still do so very little to treat PTSD better is a horrible reflection of our society.

I know a lot of people complain that this has too much narrative for non-fiction, but I didn't mind at all. It's a compelling story and of course the conversations and quotes may not be authentic at all, but I can't care about that. Even though I knew how the story would end, I was completely captivated by the storytelling and couldn't wait to see what would happen (and nearly kill him) next. What a life.
