I'd seen the movie a few years ago, which confirmed John Malkovich and Gary Sinise as some of my favorite actors. I was already interested in reading it since I've read The Pearl, which must be the only required reading that I really enjoyed reading, and the movie fuelled that interest. Well, officially I have read this book before in high school and I hated it. But, I had to read with one of my classes again and I found that I actually like it this time!
