Still unbelievably powerful and moving.
I listened to this and read along at the same time. Ms. Angelou's voice is so soothing and her tales so engaging and heartbreaking! I think this is such an important book for everyone to read. A young white woman such as myself will never be able to fully understand and appreciate what it's like to grow up a young black girl in the South in the 1930s and 1940s. I am grateful that Angelou's book can bring me even the slightest bit closer to that understanding.
