Full review to come, once I have time to process, but this was amazing! I'm glad I gave it a chance.
So I absolutely loved this book, but now too much time has passed and this isn’t going to be as detailed as I wanted. Woe. (I blame school starting)
This reminded me a lot of the Red Rising trilogy, Marie Rutkowski’s Winner’s Trilogy, Ink & Bone, How to Lead a Life of Crime.....and there is of course a Game of Thrones vibe to it as well. (Sidebar: I feel like “Game of Thrones” is the new “Hunger Ga ...more

This book was stunning on so many levels. I loved the subtle commentaries wrapped up in the Roman parallels, loved how the story didn't flinch from real violence and pain, loved how it portrayed the female characters. I am just in love. Amazing. ...more
