This beautifully illustrated book may only be 1/4 inch thick, but its few pages pack a wallop. This is one of the most intriguing, touching, grab-you-by-the-throat-and-shake-you books I have ever read.

I like the idea of a portrait of someone as a reader, but other than that I didn't much care for this. The writing was stilted and I hated how the text was integrated into it. The one thing I really liked was Mr. Openshaw's hair.
