This book utterly surprised me. On the face of it this is a book about a secret society, code breaking, dreams of eternal life, and high tech data visualization. Normally those don't add up to a story I would read and enjoy.

I wanted to like this book but 180 pages in I was so bored and just didn't even care so I stopped reading it.

Just...fantastic. I would recommend this to any reader, especially someone interested in timely (extremely contemporary), smart, light (not insubstantial, but the opposite of something dense or difficult) literary fiction. Thinking about just how contemporary this novel is...I wonder if it will feel dated in five years?
