Ah, how i love Dumas. Another beautiful piece of literature. The only thing about this book I wasn't too fond of was the few chapters that dealt only with Milady. I found that patch of the bo ok a bit tedious, and while I recognize its importance to the overall story... I really couldn't wait to get back to d'artangan. I look forward to read the next in this saga when I can finally get my hands on it.

Starts off a rather funny and rollicking adventure but Monsieur Dumas does chew rather more than he bites off and the many long deviations get tiresome after a while. I totally admit I SparkNotesed my way to the finish on this one. As a fan of the many movie and TV adaptations I'm glad I finally read it, but I'll be revisiting these wonderful characters on the screen rather than the page.

I loved The Count of Monte Cristo, but this one just didn't hit the mark for me. Glad to have finally read it though!
