What Members Thought
This just didn't quite work for me as a whole. I really enjoyed the first 2/3 or so, which were light and frothy and fun. But then there were some segments that were just too long and sorely needed an editor's red pen. And the end was very dark and just didn't match tonally with the lightheartedness of the rest of the book. Not awful, but not great. If you're going to read a Dumas, definitely make it The Count of Monte Cristo, which is a (fun) work of art.
