meh. a friend lent this book to me, and I was so excited to finally read it. I've been wanting it for awhile. and I was so disappointed. the book was hard to get into, and really dragged after the beginning. I had a difficult time liking or caring about Tally, since she got herself into the situations, and only cared about being pretty. then her relationship with David was built on a lie. May 2013 Review:
I re-read this book for mother/daughter book club with my 13 year old. It prompted great discussion from both the younger and older readers. We talked about everything from how we see ourselves vs. how others see us to our words choices to describe ourselves. it had a slow start (which could be because i knew there were more books to read and i was anxious to get to them)...it is also science fiction which doesn't excite me too much...i am interested to read the next books to see about the "cure"

I am so glad that Ann told me this was not another series about cliqes. I had been avoiding this book. This was a fabulous Science Fiction that focused on the idea of everyone having to be pretty.
