What Members Thought
I absolutely loved this. I know very little about the Civil War, and what I do know tends to have the colour and flavour of "Gone With the Wind" or "North and South". This is a very different and I suspect far truer picture of the ravages this war placed on the people who lived and died in it. Frazier creates a world rich and compelling in detail. He lets the characters reveal themselves by their actions, as does the natural world around them.
