This book grew on me slowly and then I was hooked and couldn't put it down. What a simple but enchanting story of two girls, living in same city but at the same time have somehow different lives. Both are born into traditional worker families in Naples where tradition speaks first. One of the is smarter but the other one has more luck with not being forced into what was common those days for girls.

It was like a 1950's Italian soap opera. Kind of disappointed. Will have to take a break before I consider reading the next in the series.
