Someone recommended I read this book 15 years ago when I was a nanny one summer. It's an understatement to say it took me a while to get around to reading this book. What finally prompted me to pick it up and read it was my 11 year old's insistence that I would love this book. How right she was. I read it in just a few hours and cried during some parts of it. I liked this and can certainly understand why the kids always rave about it. It probably would have helped if this had been my first dystopian novel instead of my 50th.

Do I even need a review of this one? It is wonderful. Every Kid Lit class I read it in I loved it. Grades 5+

You read it in middle school, you know what it's about. But did you look closely? Did you see the biblical allusions, the arguments about euthanasia, the question of order and labels, the parallels to our own censorship in schools? Did you? DID YOU?
