I know this is a modern classic, beloved by friends, and a dystopian, one of my favorite genres. Also, it was on audio book when I needed one to listen to. Perfect, right? Sort of.

Someone recommended I read this book 15 years ago when I was a nanny one summer. It's an understatement to say it took me a while to get around to reading this book. What finally prompted me to pick it up and read it was my 11 year old's insistence that I would love this book. How right she was. I read it in just a few hours and cried during some parts of it. Do I even need a review of this one? It is wonderful. Every Kid Lit class I read it in I loved it. Grades 5+
