Ugh. I can’t remember the last time my expectations were so high and the reality was so low.
This should’ve been an easy home run for me! It’s right in my wheelhouse! Literary fiction about a couple over the course of their 24-year marriage, told from the point of view of the husband for the first half, the wife the second. I will agree with other reviews that the Fates section was slow to start and a bit repetitive, and the Furies section had some plot points that I saw coming from a mile away, but I liked the book overall and I liked spending time with these frequently horrible but still compelling people.
