This book blew me away. I really don't know how to review it objectively. I just loved it. I love Malala and the things she stands for. I admire the work that she and her family have done, and the courage with which they did it. I enjoyed learning so much about Pakistan's history, legends, various cultures, scenery, etc. I'm sure if you already know a lot of about Pakistan, those sections may drag for you. The book seemed choppy between Malala's story and Pakistani history. At times her voice seemed appropriate for her age, then she sounded very immature and then far beyond her age. It wasn't a smooth read for me.

I teared up at the last words of the book. In addition to learning so much about Malala and her passion for protecting the right of girls to receive an education, I also learned a lot about her life in Pakistan. The book is well written, endearing, heartbreaking, and hopeful.
