This is an amazing story, and I of course appreciated it so much more at this age than I did at 14. One thing that really struck home this time around was that this was written in 1960...before the Civil Rights Act. I didn't understand the significance of that when I was in high school, but I am very much impressed with Harper Lee's contribution to society now. The quote of the novel:

Just finished rereading this book and still feel the same: amazed. Simple plot but very warm in my heart, Scout is still one of my mos fave narrators, Jem is still cool as ice, and Atticus is still my ideal father. The question is: am I ready for the sequel?
