I don't frequently read a lot of science nonfiction or science journalism, but this was a well-written, well-researched book that flowed well and even made me laugh at times. Worth a read!

Very well-written. Lots to think about regarding evolution and extinction and our role in it as humans. Good history, too.

Elizabeth Kolbert's new book about our environment reads like the Book of Revelations. It's the signs of the apocalypse that we must search. Going over the natural history of our world and its historical discoveries, she reveals piece by piece how mankind is destroying its own environment. She doesn't do this in a dramatic way; she just provides the historical backdrop, demonstrates the similarities today and subtly draws the connection.

Super-interesting, and also terrifying. Great source of information, well-written so it wasn't dry to follow. Should be a must-read for everyone.
