I wasn’t sure what to expect going in - I was worried about it feeling too historical for me - but I really enjoyed this. It was smart and funny and very properly old-fashioned, like grown-up British Nancy Drew (if she were minor royalty). The names are all hilarious and the sly humor about being royal and rich (or poor) was a lot of fun. I’m curious to find out what happens to Georgie next and will definitely read more in the series.
I figured out the baddie pretty quickly, but the pleasure of a good cozy is in the voyage (including witty banter, excellent clothes, country houses & delicious-sounding food), not the destination.
Cozy mysteries aren't to my normal taste in books. However, the ladies in my book club convinced me to try this one, especially since Bowen's other series, about Constable Evans is already on my to-read list. I'm glad they did. Her Royal Spyness was a fast, fun read. yes, I figured out the identity of the murderer at least halfway through the book, as well as what else that person was doing and part of the reason why everything was being done. and yes, there's a character named Darcy, and the ma

This is my first "cozy mystery" and I absolutely loved it. It was funny and twisty and all around enjoyable. Definitely going to keep reading the series.

Charming and light. I’d love to see a movie like this, I think it’d be hilarious. Not sure if I’ll read any more from this series, but this was entertaining.
