I am very sorry that I wasn't introduced to Anne at an earlier age. The story of a studious, smart girl who doesn't always feel like she fits in but forges ahead regardless would have probably really resonated with 10 year old me.
As an adult, I appreciated Anne's relationship with Marilla and Matthew. I loved Matthew's tender heart and Marilla's strictness that also allows for room for error. Anne's friendships are also well drawn and I could picture the well loved setting too.
