Probably closer to a 3.5 rating. Suffers great from second-book-expectation-syndrome - still good (and a really fun listen, since I managed to lay hands on the audiobook read by Wil Wheaton) but not as good as reading Ready Player One for the first time. I hate to use the term derivative, but the beginning of the book definitely felt too much like The Last Starfighter or Ender's Game. But a good ending. The best part of this book was the characters. The plot was a little shaky and definitely derivative, but the pacing was good. It was Clines characters that really made the book. They were believable and it made you care about them. 3.5 stars
