Brilliant and devastating; to say that this isn't an easy book would be an understatement. The portrayal of human suffering is unmatched in anything I have read in a long time. If it weren't for the moments of lyricism in the writing, it'd be nearly unbearable. ...more

Sought out the store (and this novel) because of this article about bookstores in Canberra (forwarded to me by my sister upon my arrival in town!):
